Announcements from the Meeting on 8/23/2010

  • Clean Stream is on August 29, we are meeting at 6:30am at Shenandoah.
    • We are going to Ozark Outdoors, where we will get into canoes and go down the river while picking up trash.
    • There is not a defined time that we will arrive back; the time is defined by how long it takes us to finish our assigned section of the river.
    • Bring money for breakfast, we will be stopping on the way down at Burger King
    • Bring Water, class b shirt, sunscreen (preferably applied prior to arriving at Shenandoah), a spare change of clothing,no flip flops, a towel, a lunch, and have some type of waterproof bag, container, a bunch of zip lock bags (not recommended), etc. to put stuff in.
    • COME IN A SWIMSUIT!
  • Challenge Course Campout is on September 10-12.  We are meeting at the school at 5:30pm.
    • Packing list is on the website under “resources"
    • The program on Saturday is challenge course and rank advancement.
    • The challenge course will be broken into two groups.  One will work on the low course while the other on the high ropes.  We will reverse this in the afternoon
    • We will plan as always to leave Sunday at 9:30 am, but this may be adjusted based on tents being dry.
  • Contact Mr. Thiel for baseball tickets, there are still some scout ones left.

Lake Campout

On August 6, we will be meeting at 5:30 at Shenandoah Valley School to leave for our Lake campout.  The weekend will be packed with fun, including water skiing, knee boarding, tubing, and more.  Also, look forward to an amazing dessert on Saturday night!

Cardinals Baseball Game on September 5



Our troop is going a Cardinals baseball game on September 5, 2010.  Please know if you can go by the meeting on monday night so we can get the group pricing.  Adult tickets cost $26 and scout (15 and younger) cost $9 and each ticket includes a free hot dog and soda.

Pictures from Summer Camp and Scout Quest have been posted to the website.  If you have any more, please either email them to spl@803bsa.com or bring them to a meeting (digital copies). 

Memorial Day Flags on Sunday

One of the best service projects of the year is on Sunday.  Our troop is going to cemeteries and placing flags in front of the graves of war veterans.  We normally finish by noon, but if more people go we can finish sooner.  For more information, click here.
